Hello 2013..

...you came around so quickly..  Hopefully it is going to be a busy year for LadyBug Creations.

It's certainly going to be a busy start to the year. I've an order for a cot quilt set, done in Cath Kidston style colours and fabrics.. I'm really looking forward to this one. 

It's going to be very pretty. Pictures will follow as it progresses.

Apart from the quilt set, I've got order for bean bags for a friends' little girls, possible order for a pair of cushions for another friend who wants something different for her youngest daughter's christening (one for each daughter as she can't get one without the other..) and some christmas bunting for an artist friend who is going to swap me a framed drawing for the bunting. 

Last cot quilt I made was for a little lady called Isabelle..Pink, white and grey. Found a grey spotty fabric, which at first I thought was too dark, but when out with the other fabrics and edged by pink spotty ribbon, looked really nice together...

A couple of other things that I got finished in between the insanity of Christmas in the paid job, was a small stocking for a friend's son's 1st Christmas, Christmas banner (not bunting in the traditional triangle) complete with bells and an apron..

It's not the best photo of the banner, but it was the best I could get.. All other attempts ended up having bits missing or looking as though I'd taken the photo in a dark cave. 

Everything you see on here is available to order.. I did only make one of each due to lack of space at the time, and obviously, lack of time as it was all done November/December last year..

I am going to make up some different stockings, some bigger, some the same size, and as the picture above shows, some that you can hang on your tree.

Goodbye Summer..

Hello Autumn..

Yes, I know its still August and yes I know I haven't been here since June (for that I apologise and have no real explanation for) but with the soggy summer we've had and today's miserable weather, you can't help but let your thoughts wander to Autumn and all that follows it.. golden / red leaves, conkers (if you are lucky enough to get there before the kids ;) ) Harvest Festival, Halloween and of course.. the big one.. Christmas!

As I mentioned in my last post, I had been asked to make a church banner to be used in a floral display.
Red fabric, blue lettering and gold fringing were all decided on for it with some wadding to make it easier to display. Turned out rather well don't you think?

I've got an order for a cot quilt to match some bunting, so lovely pinks and greens for a change. Then its a rag doll, never made one before so this is going to be a case of trial and error! Customer who has ordered the quilt, has a pregnant sister and from what my lady has told me, her sister might well be wanting a quilt/bumper/bunting set made for her baby girl.
I thought that all my friends were taking a break in the reproduction cycle for a while, not so..this baby is due in February.

There are also a couple of orders for some Christmas stockings ( 2 are definetly a baby's first and the others are possible orders)  and some Autumn / Halloween bunting :)

Here goes nothing...

Finally finished messing around with the layout etc... still not sure if I 100% like it. Will let it sit for a while and see how I feel about it. In the mean time, I'm going to get started on making up some Christmas decoration samples (yes....I said the 'c' word in July).. baubles, parcels and stockings this afternoon (hopefully).
I will figure out how to do the whole pictures thing later on.. *slightly scary*
